Rice County renews prosecution agreement with Lonsdale, expected to net about $21,000 annually

A commissioner asked whether the county rates are comparable to private practice; Mortensen said county rates are "definitely below market" but are a net positive for the office because staff are already present in court and the workload adds little additional time.
The board approved the renewal by voice vote. Mortensen told the board the county does not provide similar prosecution services to other municipalities in Rice County.
