Parkland honors library contest winners, donates Parkland Dash proceeds and presents pumpkin‑patch donations

The City Commission recognized youth and community organizations during the Dec. 3 meeting. The Parkland Library’s annual bookmark contest winners were acknowledged, with students from kindergarten through ninth grade called forward to receive recognition.
Vice Mayor Breyer presented proceeds from the 2025 Parkland Dash to Run for Beagle and the Scott J. Beagle Memorial Fund, noting the fund’s mission to send at‑risk and underserved children affected by gun violence to summer camp. Mayor Walker and commissioners also presented proceeds from the City of Parkland pumpkin patch to the Parkland 17 Memorial Foundation to support plans for a permanent memorial on a 150‑acre preserve.
The commission concluded the recognitions by honoring Deputy Chief Mike Mosier for his public safety career and contributions to the Coral Springs Parkland Fire Department. Speakers praised his leadership, service awards and community presence and wished him well in his next role.
