McKinney tennis center named favorite facility in Texas Tennis poll

At the Jan. 6 McKinney work session, Amy Kinkade, director of Parks and Recreation, announced that the city's tennis courts were named the favorite facility in the Texas Tennis "Best of Texas" voting.
Kinkade said the nomination involved 26 nominees and more than 10,000 votes from tennis professionals and players across the state. She introduced Matt Hamlin to accept the recognition and thank the parks staff responsible for maintaining the facility.
"We're certainly honored to have this award," Hamlin said, thanking staff and council for support and noting contributions from staff including Melissa and Bob. The presentation concluded with a brief photo opportunity.
