McKinney council approves $14.8M TxDOT grant for airport and a series of land‑use votes

- Specific Use Permit for passenger fuel sales (25‑0009SUP3): Staff recommended and council approved an SUP to allow a gas station (7‑Eleven) at the southwest corner of Bloomdale Road and US‑75; applicant Brian Glaser (Glazer Retail Partners) answered questions about site spacing and standards.
- Rezone to PD for New Jerusalem Baptist Church (25‑0105Z2): Applicants Myra and Deborah Bradford described a multi‑use facility that would include a daycare for about 150 children, a K–3 school adding grades annually, a community center, and a sanctuary the applicants said would hold roughly 400 people. Planning & Zoning had recommended approval and voted 7‑0; planning staff noted the PD request did not meet all PD criteria but P&Z and council approved the rezoning after public support.
- Collin Central Appraisal District votes: Council allotted all 88 of McKinney’s votes to Steve Wilson for the CCAD board of directors.
