Board approves $20,000 not-to-exceed amendment with Strand for SCADA and engineering support

The Board of Public Works approved a not-to-exceed $20,000 amendment with Strand to provide specialized engineering and systems support for the Clean Water Plant and related infrastructure.
A city staff member explained that Strand (and previously Jacobs) have performed major improvement projects for the city and that the amendment covers on-call engineering tasks the city cannot perform in-house, including SCADA work and permit-related analyses. The staff member said the city spent about $18,000 on those services last year.
Board members asked whether Strand personnel come on site or perform work remotely; staff said most work last year was done remotely but that Strand has performed on-site SCADA adjustments when necessary, and that they recently helped recover a virtual SCADA server.
Joe Piper moved to approve the amendment; Kevin Riley seconded. The board voted and approved the amendment.
