The Waukesha Board of Public Works voted on Feb. 19 to proceed with tuckpointing work on the cemetery chapel, approving both the base and alternate bids under an Omnia Partners/US Communities contract for a combined total of $64,600.
Public Works staff described the alternate as additional land and stone repairs on the front face of the main chapel building and said the alternate fit within the project budget. A board member asked what additional work the alternate covered; staff replied it was land and stone repairs at the front of the building. The board approved moving forward with both base and alternate work by voice vote.
The award uses a cooperative purchasing contract vehicle (Omnia Partners) rather than an open bid; staff said the work will proceed under that contract and did not identify a separate prime vendor in the discussion. The board gave staff direction to proceed with the tuckpointing and the additional repairs as presented.
