The San Antonio City Council on Feb. 19 approved a plan amendment and a rezoning for property at 322 Tarasco Drive, moving the West Southwest sector plan designation from suburban tier to mixed‑use center and rezoning the parcel from C3R to C3CD with conditional uses. Planning staff recommended approval with conditions and the council carried the motion after a councilmember moved to approve with conditions.
Planning staff told the council the approval includes a 15‑foot Type B landscape buffer yard along the northern property line adjacent to single‑family residential uses and a prohibition on vehicular ingress or egress from Tarasco Drive. Staff said they mailed 24 notices and that two were returned in favor; the Rainbow Hills Area Neighborhood Association supported the rezoning.
Councilman Munguia moved to approve the items with the conditions read into the record. The motion was seconded and the council voted to approve. There were no public speakers registered on these items during the individual consideration.
The zoning action allows the property to be used under a C3 conditional designation for uses that include manufactured homes and oversized vehicle sales, service or storage, subject to the buffer and access limitations approved by the council. The conditions are intended to reduce potential conflicts with adjacent single‑family homes by adding landscaping and limiting driveway impacts on Tarasco Drive.
The council’s action finalizes the change to the West Southwest sector plan for this site and authorizes the C3CD zoning with the stated conditions. The decision is effective immediately pending any required administrative processing.
