At its March 2 meeting the Lawrenceburg City Council heard public comments about a hazardous shoulder and drop near the Ludlow Hill and Pribble Road turning point and received praise for the community garden operation.
A resident described a steep drop near the turn that can leave vehicles stuck and asked whether the condition is state or city responsibility; council members said staff (Austin) will inspect the site and contact the appropriate agency as needed. Commenters noted truck traffic hauling dirt from Lake Marsh property and suggested the shoulder erosion may be related.
Scott McClain, who identified himself during public comment, highlighted the community garden's food‑bank contributions and education programs and asked council to preserve the garden. "A lot of people outside of that garden don't understand what goes on there besides planting — there's also a lot of pounds of vegetables that go to the food bank," McClain said, noting accessible beds and youth education features.
Council approved two donation committee recommendations by motion and voice vote and scheduled upcoming work sessions and a council work session. Council also asked staff to review the community garden agreement and said they would follow up on the Ludlow Hill road shoulder once staff inspects the site.
No ordinance or binding land‑use change was made at the March 2 meeting regarding the garden or the road; the items were identified for staff follow up.
