City staff presented a multi-department events calendar for 2026, highlighting downtown activation, recurring community programs and seasonal celebrations.
Sue Georgevich, representing the Department of Parks and Recreation, summarized citywide offerings including flashlight egg hunts, a kite festival in April, a spring yard sale, a chalk festival, the city’s Independence Day celebration scheduled for July 2, and a Light Parade set for Dec. 5. She noted the parade date was selected to best fit available band schedules.
Grace, who spoke about downtown programming, said the farmers market will run April 11 through Nov. 21 and described a pilot night food market, Last Fridays-series activities beginning April 25, and a planned Juneteenth event on June 12. "We had approximately a 130 attendees" at the downtown Super Bowl pregame gathering, Grace said, and staff expect to expand vendor opportunities in the plaza.
Library Director Ryan Glass outlined library programming and the summer reading theme "Plant a Seed, Read," and noted the library’s summer reading kickoff will be on June 13 in partnership with city events.
Staff solicited vendor applications and sponsor contacts and said event details and plaza-rental information will be published on the city website.
