Plan commission flags map mismatch in draft comprehensive plan executive summary; public hearing set for Nov. 4

The Menomonee Falls Plan Commission reviewed the draft executive summary and appendices for the 2025–2045 comprehensive plan at its Oct. 7 meeting and asked staff to correct a map inconsistency before the public hearing.

Planner Amy Bennett said the executive summary pulls language from the draft chapters but that the land-use map included in this draft did not reflect the Commission’s most recent recommended changes. She said staff will replace the map with the version the commission reviewed and that the executive summary and appendices (resolution, ordinance, community survey and maps) are posted online and available at Village Hall and the library.

Bennett told commissioners the public hearing on the comprehensive plan update is scheduled for the Plan Commission meeting on Nov. 4. She reviewed options for submitting comments in advance (written submissions, email, or attending the public hearing) and said staff will not update the draft during the public comment period unless edits are prompted by hearing input.

Commissioners asked for confirmation that the online map is the up-to-date version that reflects the commission’s changes; Bennett confirmed the public-facing map on the website reflects the recommended changes and that the executive summary PDF will be corrected to match. The commission discussed timing and the process for taking a recommendation to the Village Board after the public hearing.
