At the March 10 meeting the commission approved a hardscape plan for 13 North Liberty that restores a historic brick driveway apron and adds antique or reclaimed granite curbing intended to help manage stormwater toward town drainage facilities.
Steven, the applicant’s representative, said the property sits on the low side of North Liberty and runoff flows down toward the property and the Lily Pond; the proposed granite curbing would turn runoff into the apron and allow it to move along the street edge into existing town stormwater management infrastructure. Commissioners asked about existing fences and whether deer-fencing would be visible; Steven said deer fencing would be limited to the back half of the property and concealed behind privet. The applicant specified curbing would be reclaimed/random lengths (roughly 2–5 feet) to achieve a natural look.
Commissioner Abby moved to approve the application as submitted; the motion carried by voice vote. The commission noted that existing vegetation should be retained and referenced an as-built fee on a separate application that must be paid within 90 days for that case.
