At the Aug. 6 York County work session the board moved the consent calendar as amended and approved a contract to replace two aging waterfront structures with a single-story, ADA-accessible dock-master and guest-services building.
Staff told the board the project consolidates the existing dock-master office (about 350 square feet) and deteriorated restroom facilities into a single new building that will include ADA-accessible restrooms, a dock-master office, guest services and support spaces. Funding for the project, staff said, was accumulated over multiple fiscal years.
If the contract award is approved, staff said demolition would begin the week after Labor Day to minimize impacts on summertime events, and the project schedule is designed to reduce disruption during peak visitor season.
The consent calendar passed with a recorded roll-call vote described in the minutes as "Motion carried." Staff noted two consent items had been revised after the agenda publication (a refund resolution with interest added and another clerical revision) and those revised papers were placed in board packets prior to the vote.
