Menomonee Falls board approves consent items, police contract and Plan Commission appointment; enters closed session

The Menomonee Falls Village Board handled several routine and personnel actions Monday after the fire chief’s presentation.
The board unanimously approved the consent agenda, which included a single bill approval for January 2026 in the amount of $2,104,302.44 reported by Village Manager Mark Fitzgerald. Trustee Sewell moved the consent motion.
During public comment, former trustee Steve Taggart urged unanimous approval of his father for a vacant Plan Commission seat. The applicant, identified on the agenda and during the meeting as Sturgis Taggart, introduced himself and thanked the board. Trustee Matt Hayes moved to approve the village president’s appointment of Sturgis Taggart to the Plan Commission, for a term through April 2028; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Trustee Hayes then moved to approve a collective bargaining agreement covering 2025–2027 between the village and the Menomonee Falls Police Association, Local 313. Trustees praised the department’s service; the agreement was approved by unanimous voice vote.
Finally, Trustee Hayes moved that the board convene into closed session under Wisconsin Statutes § 19.85(1)(c) with the village manager and village attorney present for the village manager’s performance review and goal‑setting. The motion was seconded, the board voted in favor and entered closed session.
