Scott Habegger, a trustee with the Menomonee Falls Public Library, and Library Director Jackie Rammer told the Village Board on Feb. 2 that the library is launching a capital campaign to support a planned renovation of the building's first floor.
"We are launching a capital campaign to help support the renovation of the library's 1st Floor," Habegger said, citing the steady evolution of the library's services and spaces. Rammer said the library has seen growth in recent years: "We have seen an 11% growth in visitors since 2023," and "we had over 172,000 visitors to the library last year." She added that the library now has "over 18,000 people who have a valid library card with us" and reported record physical checkouts in January, "over 32,000 items checked out."
Ram said the building has been in use for about 24 years and the board is focusing on updating the public face of the library, from the vestibule and reading nook to staff areas and the boardroom. Planned improvements include new carpeting, LED lighting, upgraded technology, ADA updates to the copy area, new furnishings with integrated technology, and a revitalized lobby book-sale area intended to increase donations.
The campaign will include a community-level "Be the Hero" individual giving campaign, launching online via GiveButter, and a corporate campaign that will offer partnership opportunities for local businesses, including naming-rights options for specific spaces. Rammer said the campaign materials and suggested giving levels would be posted on the library's website when the campaign goes live. She said the library is "hoping to do these in late 2026, maybe looking at November."
Board members asked about specific spaces and naming-rights terms. Rammer described a recently added 10-to-12 age room, noting programming such as tween book clubs and reserved equipment. On naming-rights duration she said the campaign team is flexible and that suggested terms and amounts will be provided with the campaign launch materials.
The presenters encouraged residents and small businesses to participate and said donors to the friends'managed individual campaign will be invited to an after-hours celebration at the library. Rammer said the Friends of the Menomonee Falls Library (a 501(c)(3)) will run the individual campaign and that the library board would coordinate the corporate outreach.
