The Southampton County Planning Commission unanimously adopted a resolution of appreciation recognizing William W. Day for his service to the county. The resolution, read aloud by the chair (Speaker 2), recorded Day's tenure on the Planning Commission from July 28, 2014, to April 30, 2025, and praised his dedication to balancing preservation and development.
Speaker 4 moved to accept the resolution and Speaker 3 seconded. The motion carried without recorded opposition. William W. Day responded, "It's been an honor and a privilege to work with all of y'," and received applause and congratulations from commissioners and attendees.
The resolution will be spread upon the minutes of the commission and an appreciation certificate reflecting the 21st day of August, 2025, will be presented to Day.
