Round Rock council approves $142,582 water-line change order and $1.56 million transit amendment

On Sept. 11 the Round Rock City Council approved two infrastructure-related resolutions: a quantity-adjustment change order with Austin Underground Inc. and a third amendment to the interlocal transit services agreement with Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Capital Metro).
Brian (city staff) explained that the Austin Underground change order, associated with the SH 29 raw-water line relocation (I-35 to Wolf Ranch Parkway), arose after the contractor discovered subsurface conflicts requiring additional work priced at $142,581.62. The council moved, seconded and approved the change order.
Staff also presented a third amendment to the interlocal agreement with Capital Metro under a year-to-year model. The amendment carries a local amount of $1,555,551 for the coming period; staff said about half of that figure is expected to be covered by federal funds because the city is a direct recipient. Council moved and unanimously approved the amendment and asked staff to continue evaluating service models for efficient use of federal funds.
Both items were approved by roll-call poll with all council members recorded as voting yes.
