Kenny Seymour, chief of the Fulshear Police Department and a representative of the Texas Police Chiefs Association, presented the Missouri City Police Department with a certificate of reaccreditation from the Texas Law Enforcement Accreditation Program, saying the award reflects a year of policy audits, on‑site assessment and ongoing compliance.
"It is my privilege to be here this evening to present Missouri City Police Department with a certificate of reaccreditation from the TPCA," Seymour said, describing the program as a voluntary, statewide framework of 173 standards rooted in Texas law, court rulings and best practices. He said assessors inspected facilities, reviewed procedures, rode with officers and interviewed staff before the accreditation committee voted unanimously to reaccredit the department.
Shashi Kumar, assistant city manager, and council members joined in congratulating the department. Seymour noted the reaccreditation requires annual reports and another comprehensive on‑site evaluation every four years to maintain the distinction.
The presentation did not include formal council action beyond recognition.
