The council unanimously adopted a countywide hazardous‑materials interlocal agreement that formalizes a response arrangement with Cedar Park, Georgetown, Leander, Taylor and Williamson County; the fire chief said the agreement formalizes a longstanding handshake arrangement and does not change response responsibilities.
The council also approved a regional vehicle burglary suppression task force interlocal that, according to Assistant Chief Tom Sloan, allows participating agencies to share investigative resources and better interdict auto crimes occurring across jurisdictional boundaries.
Contracts for the purchase of Ford and Chevrolet vehicles to support city operations were approved under cooperative purchasing agreements; staff cited a combined not‑to‑exceed amount for the vendor contracts. Council approved real‑estate purchase contracts to acquire 6.8 and 20.586 acres of right of way from the Nelson Homestead Family Partnership to complete County Road 112 (Avery Nelson Parkway), including a statement of prior payments and remaining balances to be paid to complete acquisitions.
A change order authorizing reimbursement for required railroad inspection and surveying services on the McNeil Road Extension railroad culverts project was approved; staff listed specific reimbursable amounts for survey and inspection services required by Union Pacific.
Finally, council approved a joint‑services agreement with Williamson County to conduct the May 2, 2026 election for the city, including shared costs with other entities holding elections that day. Staff said a fiscal note will be prepared for charter amendments submitted by petition.
Each of these items passed on motions from councilmembers with recorded yes‑votes from all present members.
