Rollins issues proclamation for National Senior Nutrition Program and honors Rocky Mountain Power with Community Builder Award

The Rollins City Council opened its March 3 meeting with a proclamation recognizing the 54th anniversary of the National Senior Nutrition Program and praised the Rollins Senior Center's efforts serving older adults.
Mayor Jacqueline Wells read the proclamation, citing the program's role funding home-delivered and congregate meals and noting the Rollins Senior Center served hundreds of seniors during the 2024-25 fiscal year. Kelly Morell, executive director of Carbon County Senior Services and the Rollins Senior Center, thanked the council and said donations are accepted by calling the Senior Center at (307) 328-2863; the center is still developing its website for online contributions.
The council also presented the monthly Community Builder Award to Rocky Mountain Power for local volunteerism, sponsorships and community projects. Bob Stipe, Rollins district manager for Rocky Mountain Power, accepted the award and described local efforts including downtown banners, holiday star maintenance, sign repairs and donations to the high-school senior class. Rocky Mountain Power also donated $100 to Project Reach in connection with the award presentation.
The proclamations and award were presented without objection, and the council proceeded to staff reports and other business.
