At this meeting the Lake Placid Central School District board approved several routine items under the consent and action agendas.
The board accepted the resignation of employee number 1059, effective March 6, 2026. It also appointed employee number 949 to a long‑term position as technology teacher from March 6, 2026 through June 26, 2026; the long‑term substitute will be paid a per‑diem rate of $383.56 (step 18, master’s +33) with prorated benefits. One board member recorded an abstention on that appointment during the vote.
The board approved proclamations recognizing National Education Association Read Across America (March 2026) and Music in Our Schools Month (March 2026), praising staff and programming. The board accepted a $3,000 grant from the Adirondack Community Foundation/Adirondack Foreign Language Enhancement Fund to support Quebec immersion week (host families, classes and camps).
Other routine business included linking agenda items to board goals (students first and finance) and scheduling a budget work session on April 30 and the next regular meeting on March 24.
Following these actions the board moved to enter executive session to discuss the employment history of a particular individual and approved that motion.
