Missouri City — The Missouri City Council unanimously approved a canvass of the Nov. 4, 2025 general and special election at a special meeting, confirming the outcome for mayor and several council seats, the city secretary reported.
City Secretary Crystal Rome read the tallies and percentages for each contest, reporting that Robin J. Alikat received 52.62% of the vote for mayor and that Jeffrey L. Boney received 47.38% in that race. Crystal Rome also reported the outcomes for at-large and district contests: Sonia Brown Marshall won Councilmember At-Large Position 1 with 70.27%; Lynn Klauser won Councilmember At-Large Position 2 with 70.99%; and Sharita L. Thompson won the special election for Councilmember District B with 65.35% to James Davidson’s 34.65%.
"The mayor position ... is secured by Robin J. Alikat," Crystal Rome read during the canvass. After the results were read, the council moved to approve the canvass. "The motion is approved unanimously," Crystal Rome stated as the council voted.
The motion to approve the canvass was made on the floor by "Council member Riley" and seconded by "Mayor Pro Tem Brown Marshall," as announced during the meeting. The transcript does not record an individual roll-call tally in names or numbers beyond those read during the canvass; the council recorded the approval as unanimous.
The approval formally records the certificate of results read into the record. No public comments were received during the special meeting, and the council adjourned the session at 6:12 p.m., with plans to reconvene for the regular meeting at 6:30 p.m.
