Wylie council, WEDC approve two performance agreements totaling up to $370,000

Wylie City Council and the Wylie Economic Development Corporation on March 10 approved two performance agreements authorizing WEDC financial incentives for two projects, with combined maximum exposure of $370,000.

Councilman Dave Strang moved to authorize the WEDC to enter into a performance agreement with project 2026-1c in an amount not to exceed $20,000; Councilman David R. Duke seconded the motion. Mayor Matthew Porter announced the motion carried 5-0.

Strang then moved to authorize a second performance agreement, for project 2024-412c, in an amount not to exceed $350,000. The motion was seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Juno Malice and again carried 5-0.

The actions followed an executive session announced at the start of the special called meeting. The mayor read statutory bases for the closed deliberations and a list of property corridors and parcels under consideration, citing deliberation regarding real property (Section 551.072) and economic development negotiations (Section 551.087).
