Planner Anne Williams said the request aligns with the West Side master plan and the city’s future land use plan and recommended approval.
The public hearing opened and closed with no speakers. Commissioners asked staff clarifying questions about location and whether residences would be affected; staff confirmed a single abandoned residence might be located nearby and said landscape buffer yards will be required to mitigate impacts on surrounding properties as the site develops. Commissioners moved and approved a recommendation to City Council to rezone the tract to IL.
The commission’s favorable recommendation will be forwarded to City Council for its public hearing and decision.
