Bluffton accepts 381-page update to historic resource survey

Bluffton Town Council voted to accept the town's updated historic resource survey at the March 10 meeting.
Historic preservation staff presented the report, prepared in partnership with Stantec Inc., describing the document as a 381‑page data set with forms and photos that inventory properties constructed in 1986 or earlier. Staff said the survey is intended to serve as an accurate baseline for preservation activities and future planning, and that the Historic Preservation Commission and the South Carolina State Historic Preservation Office oversee periodic surveys for certified local governments.
The council moved, seconded and approved acceptance of the survey by voice vote. Staff offered to furnish copies of the document to council members and to make the report available for review in town hall.
