Grand County commissioners approve vouchers, recording contract, liquor-license renewal and other routine items

During routine business the Grand County Board approved a set of finance and administrative items, including vouchers, a recording contract, a liquor-license renewal and a temporary animal-shelter lease extension.
Finance Director Alina Bell summarized 58 payments totaling $391,804.43. She called out a $105,193.33 annual payment to Motorola Solutions for the sheriff's lease, $66,775.08 in DA expenses, $91,357 in fall grants and an EMS Station 1 payment of $2,158.66 to Kumar and Associates. Bell also noted a wire processed Nov. 26 for $1,048,416.71 to a title company related to the Windy Gap branch purchase.
The board moved to approve the vouchers and related wire payments presented for Grand County, the Department of Human Services and the Grand County Housing Authority; the motion passed.
Clerk and Recorder Jolene Linking presented an annual meeting-recording contract with For the Record for $2,150; the board approved the contract and signed as requested. Linking also presented a tavern liquor-license renewal for PIFGB Inc. (doing business as the tavern), noting that fees were paid and the sheriff reported no adverse actions; the board approved the renewal.
Wayne Shafer of the sheriff's office asked the board to approve a month-to-month extension of the animal-shelter lease to carry operations until the new shelter is built; the sheriff said the current lease would be extended up to 10–11 months at the same price, and the board approved the extension.
The board also authorized stamping Commissioner Wagner's signature on a public notice as requested by staff. Other calendar and committee items were announced, including a road-maintenance workshop scheduled for Jan. 6 at 1 p.m.
