Grand County housing authority approves $24,216 window contract for Silver Springs Apartments

The Grand County Board of County Commissioners approved a services contract for window replacement at Silver Springs Apartments, authorizing the chair to sign the contract as presented.
Housing authority manager Sheena joined remotely and described the contract with Z Double D, Inc. for replacement of 11 windows in a not-to-exceed amount of $24,216.12. She said the work is funded from housing-authority reserves and that HUD had approved the funding and the county had already received the check. "This money will come out of the reserves account, and it already it has already been approved by HUD," Sheena said.
Commissioners confirmed the price was all-inclusive — removal, disposal and installation — and that the county's maintenance team would address any unforeseen rotten wood discovered during replacement. One commissioner moved to approve the contract for services and the motion passed on a voice vote.
The contract was described as a Board of County Commissioners action (no separate housing-authority board meeting required for signature). Staff said work will proceed unless hidden structural issues require minor additional work handled by county maintenance.
