A resident thanked the county for partnering with the Town of Elizabeth to assemble and deliver "more than 150 plus bags" of items for seniors and said recipients have responded with gratitude.
Don Grama requested public transparency on two ongoing cases the county faces with Public Service Company of Colorado — a district-court case and a separate Public Utilities Commission (PUC) matter — saying he wanted the public "brought up to speed on both litigations." The chair said the county could not comment on matters in open litigation. Lance, speaking for county staff, provided a procedural status: the district-court case is "frozen," while the PUC case is proceeding, discovery nearing completion and hearings scheduled in February.
Jacqueline Robertson, who said she was speaking on behalf of residents concerned with animal welfare, said loose dogs have formed packs in multiple neighborhoods and that some residents have begun shooting at animals. Robertson asked the board to consider reinstating impound authority or creating financial penalties and registration requirements to encourage owner responsibility; she handed the commissioners a typed letter and signatures from Elbert County residents.
Commissioners heard the comments but did not take immediate action; the items were recorded for follow-up by staff as appropriate.
