Norwalk city manager announces promotions, Community Link usage and upcoming El Museo Park meeting

City Manager Jesus used the March 3 Norwalk City Council meeting to announce two staff promotions, recap early results from the Norwalk Community Link microtransit pilot and preview continued community engagement on El Museo Park.
Jesus announced the promotion of Daniel Munoz to Public Safety Manager and Jasmine Salas to Emergency Preparedness Manager; both were described as long-serving city staff with relevant training and certifications. Jesus asked the council and public to join in congratulating the promoted employees.
On transit, the manager highlighted the Norwalk Community Link on-demand ride service. According to the presentation, since a late-January soft launch the service completed more than 2,000 rides, has more than 800 registered users, and community vehicles traveled about 3,700 miles in the first weeks of service. Jesus thanked transportation partners, including Via, and staff for implementing the pilot.
Jesus also provided updates on El Museo Park outreach: the city is meeting with adjacent community members and has a follow-up meeting scheduled for March 18 to continue dialog on community requests. He reiterated ongoing immigration-outreach efforts including a "know your rights" session on March 17 from 9 a.m. to noon at the social services center and noted updated resources on norwalk.org/prepare (the manager cited about 323,000 visits to that page in 2025 and about 53,000 year-to-date in 2026).
