Grand County to provide human services to Jackson County under new IGA through 2027

Deb Ruttenberg, Director of Human Services, presented an intergovernmental agreement between the Grand County Board of County Commissioners and Jackson County for Grand County to provide human services to Jackson County residents. Ruttenberg said changes in the IGA were limited to amounts for attorney and associated staff and that the agreement would be effective immediately upon signature and run through Jan. 15, 2027.
Ruttenberg noted Jackson County's board had not yet signed because they meet next week; she asked whether Grand County would sign first so she could get the process started. Commissioners discussed usual practice (typically both parties sign) but agreed an exception could be made and voted to approve executing the IGA. Commissioner comments noted appreciation for inter‑county cooperation.
