Northern Water IGA amendment: Shortland described Amendment No. 4 to the intergovernmental agreement providing security services to Northern Water facilities through 09/30/2026; Northern Water pays Grand County $60,000 annually for those law enforcement services. A commissioner moved to approve the six‑month extension (half of an annual contract) and the board approved the amendment.
USDA APHIS cooperative service agreement: The sheriff asked for conceptual approval of a cooperative services agreement with USDA APHIS (Wildlife Services) to provide animal and wildlife services for the remainder of FY2026, not to exceed $50,000 with an estimated $10,000 supplement from APHIS, to be covered through vacancy savings in the sheriff's budget. Commissioners approved conceptual authorization contingent upon legal review and authorized the chair to sign once legal approves; Shortland asked departments likely to use the service to coordinate usage.
