A commissioner summarized that the county received five bids for the rest home window replacement and that Rotherham was the low, compliant bidder with proper bonding; the procurement and operations review committee recommended acceptance and the commission voted to accept the bid.
Captain Matt Boxmeyer presented the boat procurement, saying the county issued a request for proposals and received a single responsive bid from Custom Weld Boats (doing business via Riverview Marina). "Their proposal met all of our specifications and requirements with a total bid amount of $156,286 and I'd like to formally recommend that the commission accept this bid," Boxmeyer said. He added the vendor's timeline met the solicitation requirements.
Both awards were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. Commissioners noted the boat purchase had been advocated by the sheriff's office and included in the county budget earlier in the year.
What happened next: With the awards approved, staff will proceed with contract execution and any necessary procurement paperwork; no public comments were offered on these items during the meeting.
