Montana Land Reliance presents RMW Ranch conservation easement; county voices support

He described the property as working cattle ranchland with irrigated hay ground on the east side and native range and wildlife habitat on the west. "The terms of the easement will dictate that no future divisions of this property will be allowed," he said, and noted that structures would be confined to clearly defined building envelopes and commercial uses limited to agriculture.
Klinkenborg tied the project to local planning goals, saying it advances Envision Gallatin objectives to protect scenic open space, agricultural soils and wildlife habitat. Commissioners expressed appreciation and support; no formal county action was required at this stage. Klinkenborg said the project could move toward a year‑end closing following county review.
Next steps: the county filed its comments as part of the statutory review and the land trust will proceed with final steps toward closing.
