Gallatin County approves multi-year snow-removal contracts for 39 rural improvement districts

Gallatin County commissioners voted on Sept. 9 to approve recommended multi-year snow-removal contracts for 39 rural improvement districts.
James Nicholson, rural improvement district program manager, summarized the solicitation: the county advertised a three-year contract term with a possible two-year extension and received 10 bids on Aug. 21. "There’s 39 rural improvement districts that received snow removal services," Nicholson said, and eight of the 10 bidders were low bidders for one or more districts.
Nicholson presented recommended awards and three-year totals for the contractors he recommended: Delzer Diversified ($68,355); Granite Peak Hardscape and Landscape ($30,975); Green Space Landscaping ($165,933); K2 Ventures ($677,805); Precision Lawn and Snow ($194,787.84); Rangel Enterprises ($46,725); Tri State Excavating ($83,340); and Yellowstone Development ($255,000). The commission approved the recommendation as read into the record.
No public opposition was recorded during the meeting. The awards cover snow-removal services by district; each district’s contract is awarded independently per the staff report. Commissioners said the awards were intended to ensure coverage for a range of rural areas across Gallatin County through the winter season and beyond under the recommended multi-year arrangements.
