Consultants deliver tourism 'toolbox' and incubator feasibility progress to commissioners

Consultants from the Antero Group summarized a year‑long tourism revitalization and economic‑diversification engagement. Eric Nagy and Molly Delaney described a public 'toolbox' that includes an economic‑asset inventory, an accommodation summary, a hotel‑attraction marketing package and a sensitivity indicator designed to help towns and county leaders identify stress points and grant priorities.
"Our feeling... there's a tremendous amount of impressive opportunity to recreate and spend money in Grand County," Eric Nagy told the commissioners, explaining the project's goal of spreading visitor spending across more areas and seasons. Antero Group said some datasets and analytic tools are public; others are available on request with briefings to avoid misinterpretation.
The consultants also reported progress on the EDA‑funded GRIP incubator feasibility study (site visits, business surveys and stakeholder interviews) and requested feedback on potential incubator locations and partner organizations. Commissioners asked for continued data maintenance and suggested the toolbox be made available to town managers and chamber directors for grant writing and planning.
