Grand County adopts 2026 budget and multiple supplementals

Finance Director Alina Bell presented the county's 2026 budget documents and companion housing authority budget. She noted the county will show higher expenditures related to ongoing construction projects (EMS Station 1) and certificate‑of‑participation proceeds, and explained that supplementals were needed to reconcile higher insurance claims for the employee insurance fund and to recognize additional grant revenues in EMS and housing funds.
The board adopted Resolution 2025‑12‑5 to approve and adopt the Grand County 2026 budget and Resolution 2025‑12‑6 for the Grand County Housing Authority. Commissioners then approved supplemental resolutions for the employee insurance fund, EMS funds, emergency telephone authority and water‑quality fund, and several housing authority supplemental actions for Cliffview, Silver Spruce and Black Bear properties. The board also certified levies for taxing districts and approved a notice of lease renewal for the EMS Station 1 certificate of participation.
