Judge Morin introduced Sanders and said Sanders has prior city-level planning experience and familiarity with property issues. The motion to approve the appointment carried unanimously among the 14 justices present. Judge Morin noted Sanders will serve the remainder of the term, which is expected to run until July; the clerk will arrange a swearing-in at the next planning-board meeting (Feb. 4).
The appointment was taken up early in the meeting after the court agreed to move the nomination forward so the nominee could depart early. The court had no substantive objections and thanked Sanders for volunteering.
Next steps: the clerk will confirm the date for swearing-in and circulate the new member’s contact information to county staff and the planning board.
