Mayor Jane Houston read a proclamation declaring October 2025 as "Women in San Marcos Month" and announced four inductees to the San Marcos Women's Hall of Fame.
The proclamation named the 2025 inductees as Sherry Boyette; Anita Asnett Collins; Elizabeth Dobbins; and Deborah e Giles Webster. The mayor noted the city and a special Parks and Recreation committee would hold an induction ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Pauline Espinosa Community Hall.
A committee member thanked the selection committee—Margaret Lindsay, Mittie Miller, Linda Coker, Rosina Vale and Michelle Hamilton—and described the panel's task as difficult given the number of nominations. The committee member encouraged residents to attend the induction ceremony to hear more about the inductees' volunteer contributions to the San Marcos community.
The proclamation was presented as a ceremonial item; no formal vote or policy action accompanied the announcement.
