Pismo Beach council approves $30,088 in CDBG recommendations to forward to county

The Pismo Beach City Council voted unanimously on Feb. 17 to adopt a resolution forwarding the city's final funding recommendations for the 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) action plan to the County of San Luis Obispo.
City staff presented the final awards: $4,513 to the Five Cities Homeless Coalition and $21,664 to Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County (CAP SLO). The CAP SLO amount includes a $2,106 administrative allocation to the city for managing the program. Including the county administrative charge of $3,911, the city's total recommended allocation equals $30,088.
A council member moved to adopt the resolution and another council member seconded the motion. The clerk called the roll: Council members Newton, Inman and Guthrie and Mayor Pro Tem Reese and Mayor Wauge each voted yes, and the motion passed 5-0.
Staff said the recommendation will be forwarded to the County of San Luis Obispo for inclusion in the county's 2026 CDBG action plan.
