The board convened public hearings for initial proposals to reopen negotiations with the California School Employees Association (CSEA Chapter 21) and the Bonita Unified Teachers Association for the 2026–27 school year.
A district representative noted the proposals were submitted under the applicable sections of the Government Code and summarized that negotiations will include compensation, health and welfare benefits and two articles of choice for each party. After public hearings were opened and closed, the board adopted the initial proposals from both the CSEA and the teachers’ association so negotiations may proceed.
Board members affirmed they received the materials and expressed support for beginning negotiations on the listed subjects. The action does not itself change contractual terms; it authorizes the negotiation process to move forward.
