Planning staff said the property functions as a kiosk-style tenant space and had long needed restroom facilities if seats or food service were to be provided. The restroom will sit behind an existing cedar picket fence and will be largely hidden from public view. Staff confirmed the site has city sewer service and that the restroom will need to meet ADA standards.
The commission opened the public hearing; no members of the public signed up to speak and the commission closed the hearing before taking a motion. A commissioner moved to accept the certificate of appropriateness as presented and the motion carried by voice vote. After the vote, several commissioners and attendees commented that the new tenant had received positive feedback from neighbors.
The COA approval covers the small, new restroom structure only and does not authorize additional visible exterior modifications beyond what was presented to the commission.
