Resident criticizes council policies, urges charter changes during public comment

Todd said the majority of Americans voted in the Nov. 5 national election to ‘‘end all vestiges of the new world order, woke, and DEI agenda’’ and accused the council of promoting ‘‘woke DEI’’ policies that, he said, deny citizens’ free speech rights. He asked why the council would not amend city charter Article 11 (recall of elected officers) and complained that citizen comment time was reduced from five minutes to three minutes. He urged resignations and said citizens were denied opportunities for open town halls.
The mayor thanked the speaker and the meeting proceeded to scheduled council comments and announcements. No council action on the charter or recall provisions occurred during the Nov. 13 meeting.
