Council moves Kickingbird Golf advisory board from resolution to ordinance, approves name clarification

The Edmond City Council voted on Nov. 13 to convert the Kickingbird Golf advisory board from a resolution to an ordinance and to make a minor name change for the facility.
Brian Sorensen, director of golf, told the council the advisory board is being codified and that the course — now referred to as Kickingbird Golf rather than Kickingbird Golf Club — has been able to continue play due to temporary fields installed by the Edmond Youth Sports Association. Council moved and seconded approval of the items and later approved the ordinance’s emergency clause.
Staff said the change is procedural and consistent with the council’s broader effort to put boards and committees into city code.
