Council authorizes city manager to negotiate incentives for Project Nova, Project Journey and Project Connect after closed session

After a closed executive session on economic-development matters, the Richardson City Council voted to authorize the city manager to negotiate and execute incentive agreements related to three named projects.

Councilmember Hudsonrider moved that the city manager be authorized to negotiate and execute an agreement on behalf of the City of Richardson and TIF Zone No. 1 with "Project Nova" to provide economic-development incentives consistent with the direction provided in executive session; the motion passed unanimously by show of hands.

The council then moved and voted on Project Journey. Ms. Justice moved that the city manager be authorized to negotiate and execute an agreement with Project Journey in accordance with executive-session direction; the motion passed 6–1. A separate motion authorized the city manager to execute a project-development agreement with Project Journey, including taking necessary actions contemplated by the transaction, including sale of city property; that motion passed 6–1.

Councilmember Curtis moved to authorize the city manager to negotiate and execute an agreement with Project Connect to provide economic-development incentives consistent with the executive-session direction; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously (7–0).
