Mercer County Commission approves routine business, schedules weather-warning discussion and signs off on $120,873.22 in bills

The Mercer County Commission conducted routine business at its July 16 meeting in Stanton.
The board approved the meeting agenda (moved by Mark Pierce, seconded by Jamee Folk) and approved minutes from the July 2 meeting (moved by Casey Voigt, seconded by Jamee Folk). Commissioners approved the Sheriff’s revenues of $29,591.25 and renewed the Hook, Line & Sinker liquor license after motions by board members. The County Nurse’s quarterly report was accepted.
HR/EM Director Alice Grinsteinner participated by phone and presented information on the Perry Weather Warning system for the Hazen and Beulah Bay areas; the board placed that item on the next agenda for more consideration. The board reviewed vouchers and approved payment of listed bills with the exception of the Hazen Motors and Center Machine bills. The minutes list approved vendor payments totaling $120,873.22.
With no further business the meeting adjourned at 11:59 a.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the boardroom of the Mercer County Government Center in Stanton; meetings can be viewed online at www.mercercountynd.com.
