Kittitas County approves $1.1 million to design lift station serving City of Kittitas

Public Works staff member Josh Fredrickson presented the project and said the Conference of Governments endorsed the proposal earlier in 2025 for use of available Distressed County Sales and Use Tax funds. "This project will expand sanitary sewer to the south area of the City of Kittitas to help unlock further economic development," Fredrickson said.
Vice Chair Cory Wright moved to approve Resolution 2025-11-7; Commissioner Brett Wachsmith seconded the motion and the board approved the resolution. The transcript records the requested amount as $1,100,000 for preliminary design.
The county will use funds from the Distressed County Sales and Use Tax program (Fund 108) for the work. Officials did not provide a construction budget or timeline in the study session; the action approved preliminary design only. The board did not attach amendments to the resolution in the recorded discussion.
