Mercer County approves $180,000 for sheriff's vehicles, approves landfill easement and other operational items

Sheriff’s Deputy Christopher Waller presented bidding details for new patrol vehicles. Commissioner Casey Voigt moved to approve the purchase as presented for a total of $180,000; Jamee Folk seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Commissioner Mark Pierce later moved to place the county’s old transfer van up for bids; that motion carried.
Maintenance Supervisor Jim Albers presented updated skid-steer quotes; the board placed that procurement on the Jan. 21 agenda for further consideration. Commissioners approved moving a $4,500 landfill payment for an old mower into Building Fund 2101 (motion by Jamee Folk, seconded by Mark Pierce; unanimous) and approved a landfill easement agreement between Mercer County and Ryan Wolf (motion by Casey Voigt, seconded by Mark Pierce; unanimous).
Chief Deputy Mark Schmitt also presented the Youthworks program and a Youth Shelter agreement, which the minutes record as a presentation to the board; no final action on that agreement is recorded in the minutes for this meeting.
