Ludington Area School District elects board officers at organizational meeting

At its Jan. 19 organizational meeting, the Ludington Area School District Board unanimously elected Stephanie Reed president, Dr. Bret Autrey vice president, Sarah Lowman secretary and Steve Carlson treasurer, and appointed Laura Kassanos as board secretary designee.
The Ludington Area School District Board of Education completed its annual organizational business on Jan. 19, electing officers and assigning committee roles.
Stephanie Reed was elected Board President after a nomination from Member Dr. Bret Autrey; the motion to close nominations and elect Reed carried unanimously. The Board then elected Dr. Bret Autrey as Vice President, Sarah Lowman as Secretary and Steve Carlson as Treasurer, each by unanimous vote. The Board also voted to designate the Superintendent’s administrative assistant, Laura Kassanos, as Board Secretary Designee to post notices and take minutes of Board meetings.
The Board assigned representatives and committee memberships for the year, including Sarah Lowman as WSESD/WSASBA representative, Mike Nagle as MASB Legislative Relations Network member, Steve Carlson as MASB negotiations liaison and Mike Winczewski as Ludington Recreation Board representative. Chair roles for standing committees were listed in the minutes.
The organizational meeting adjourned at 6:07 p.m. and the regular meeting convened immediately afterward.
The elections and appointments were approved by roll call votes with the following Board members recorded as voting aye: Stephanie Reed, Dr. Bret Autrey, Sarah Lowman, Steve Carlson, Mike Nagle, Alan Neushwander and Mike Winczewski. No nays were recorded.
