The Fremont Board of Education unanimously approved its consent agenda on June 17, adopting amended 2023‑24 budgets, approving the district’s 2024‑25 General Fund, Food Service and Activity Fund budgets, and setting the 2024 tax levy. The board also approved May disbursements totaling $4,811,010.83 and recorded routine personnel items, including the hire of Noah Graff as a middle school special education teacher and the retirement of Allison Alderton.
Kim Rasch, board member and Secretary, moved to approve the consent agenda and Carrie Crosley seconded. The motion (No. 6972) passed by a 5‑0 vote.
The consent agenda itemized multiple budget actions: amended 2023‑24 General Fund, Food Service and Activity Fund budgets; approval of 2024‑25 General Fund, Food Service and Activity Fund budgets; and related appropriation resolutions. The board also approved a resolution to set the 2024 tax levy for the General Fund, the Debt Fund and the Sinking Fund.
Board members did not discuss the individual line items at length during the meeting; the Director of Finance, Julie Reams, had covered budget details during the preceding budget hearing. The approved disbursement total for May was recorded in the minutes as $4,811,010.83.
The board’s approval completes the formal budget and levy steps needed for the district’s fiscal 2024‑25 planning; Reams also advised the board earlier in the meeting that the district plans to join the West Michigan Health Insurance Pool, a separate agenda topic.
