Tazewell County CPMT moves into closed session, certifies meeting under Virginia law
Summary
At the April 26, 2021 CPMT meeting members voted unanimously to enter a closed session to discuss foster care, CPS, Cumberland, Court Services, county schools and funding for those cases, then adopted a certification resolution citing Virginia Code §§2.2-3711 and 2.2-3712.
Natalie Clevinger moved that the Tazewell County Community Policy and Management Team (CPMT) go into closed session to discuss cases involving foster care, CPS, Cumberland, Court Services, Tazewell County Schools and funding for those services; Sheri Hale seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
Following the closed session, the CPMT adopted a certification resolution stating, in accordance with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act and Code of Virginia §§2.2‑3711 and 2.2‑3712, that only matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements were discussed and that only those matters identified in the motion convening the closed meeting were heard, discussed or considered.
The certification recorded a vote of AYES 5, NAYS 0 and noted absentees as recorded in the minutes. The public minutes do not report details of the matters discussed in closed session.
