The Laurel Urban Renewal Agency signed a contract for ditch covering and announced next steps on two infrastructure projects during a meeting on Dec. 22, 2025.
Chair Cami Story said the agency approved the meeting's minutes and heard project updates from board members and staff. Doug Tamcke reported that a contract with contractors for the ditch‑covering work was signed during the meeting and that the project is on schedule, with an expected completion in April.
The agency also scheduled an open house for property owners about the SE 4th street lighting project on Jan. 14 from 4 to 6 p.m. at The Front Porch. Agency staff said the proposed street‑lighting district linked to that project still needs to be finalized and approved before installation can proceed.
Tamcke updated the board on Project No. 1, stating the design is progressing and is expected to reach 95% completion on Jan. 15. No formal votes on the projects themselves were recorded in the meeting minutes.
The agency's next regular meeting is scheduled for Jan. 12, 2026, when board members said they will provide further updates on these items.
